Switchfoot

I just became aware of a music group that has some amazing songs. Switchfoot

They have three CD's that I have been loaned and, from what I find on the web, there are many more. One that has me really intrigued is "Under the Floor." I have printed the lyrics here.

Under The Floor

Under the floor
Between me and the door
There's a presence
I cannot deny

It's under the car
Between me and the stars
I see glory filling up the sky

And I'm certain that he hears me
He listens even as I sing my song
I'm emphatic that he's near me
And I can see his touch in everything here

Deep is the soul
Is the space I control
Is the one thing I can call as mine

Deeper the cold
When he's far from my soul
I surrender all of me inside

And I'm certain that he hears me
He listens even as I sing my song
I'm emphatic that he's near me
And I can see his touch in everything here

(These lyrics came from this website.)

More later. I think/hope this might lead me to some more current music. Let me know what you think, please!

Yes, I'm Catholic said...

You will find that Switchfoot fans are a devoted bunch.

They have 6 CDs and a 7th to come out next year. Jon Foreman, the lead singer, is putting out 4 solo EPs next year, along with CD he's making with Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek.

Part of the reason that Switchfoot fans are devoted is because the more you find out about the band, the more you realize that they mean everything they sing.

They like meeting with fans. Many fans have met them over the years. They never let the fame get to their heads. They are the most down-to-earth and real group you will ever meet.

Having said all that, if you really want something special, see them when they're touring (which is a lot!)

For myself, I liked their CDs, but didn't really understand their full passion until I took my daughter to a concert. We both thought it was the best we'd ever been to, even at our age differences.

You go into a SF concert thinking it will be good, and come out addicted.

This is a great band to enjoy.
